Gauja

Graži vieta, LV

The Gauja is the longest river flowing entirely within Latvia (452 km), with about a fifth of its length (93.5 km) running through Gauja National Park - Latvia's oldest national park, established in 1973. The valley reaches its deepest point at Sigulda, where it is 85 m deep; the 95 km valley is known for deep tributary ravines and steep Devonian-period sandstone cliffs. The Gauja is Latvia's most popular river for water tourism.
