Atpūtas vieta "Kaupēna grava"

Iškylos vieta, Zemgale

Kaupēna grava is a spring-fed ravine between Tērvete and Zaļenieki along the Tērvete-Jelgava road, originally called "Melnā leja" (Black ravine) before being renamed after the bandit Kaupēns, who used its steep, forest-enclosed slopes to ambush travelers with little chance of escape. The ravine's streams run down to the "Kaupēna dzirnavas" recreation complex, built on the site of former water mills and still incorporating their old foundation stones. The complex, established in 1996, now offers a rest area with a sports ground, children's playground, sauna, fishing, and camping and guesthouse accommodation.
