Smalininkų vandens matavimo stotis

Graži vieta, Tauragės apskritis

Established in 1811, this is one of Europe’s oldest continuously operating water-level measurement stations, preserving over two centuries of Nemunas River water-level data used for navigation, hydrology and flood monitoring. The complex includes historic stone measurement steps, a tower built in 1926, and the remains of the historic Smalininkai port, once an important Nemunas shipping and commerce hub; it holds national cultural heritage status and today serves as an educational attraction on river navigation and water-monitoring history.
