Graži vieta, Tauragės apskritis
Unveiled on 27 July 2025 in Girdžiai, this is a large memorial made of field stones and metal, 7 meters tall and weighing 9 tons, created by national-prize-laureate sculptor Vladas Urbanavičius. It honors the people of the Girdžiai region who fought for Lithuania’s freedom and passed spiritual strength on to their children, with the reverse side commemorating the 22 villages of the former Girdžiai parish. Construction was funded by over 250 donors from the region and diaspora worldwide, whose family names are listed on an accompanying "Benefactors Stone," and the installation incorporates a roughly 50-year-old stone recovered from the Mituva riverbed during dam construction.
