Lake Babīte is a nature reserve in Mārupe and Jelgava counties. It includes Lake Babīte, artificial islands between the lake shore and polder bypass channels, as well as Gātupes polder and Peķu marsh on the southeastern shore of the lake. 372.2 ha (12.5 %) of the territory of the reserve is a strict regime zone, 2502.8 ha (83.8 %) is a seasonal reserve zone, and 113.3 ha (3.8 %) is a nature park zone.
