Pinykla Mythological Spring flows in a small forest hollow near Lazdėnai and has long been known to local residents. Its water was traditionally used to treat sore eyes, and young women would wash their faces in it hoping to preserve youthful beauty. Local folk healers also drew water from it for charms and incantations. Water-quality testing conducted in November 2009 showed its parameters significantly exceed drinking-water standards.
