Sateseles kanjons

Žygis, Vidzeme

Sāteseles kanjons is a roughly 300 meter long sandstone gorge southwest of the Sātesele hillfort near Sigulda, within Gauja National Park. Its walls rise up to about 5 meters and expose two rock layers, Amata formation sandstone above and Gauja formation sandstone below, with springs seeping from the cliff faces. A small waterfall, about 1.7 meters high, drops partway along the canyon floor. Marked trails run through the gorge and continue toward the nearby Kraukļu aiza rock formation.
