This rest area with a table, benches and a fire pit sits by Kovinė pond in Gegužinės forest, officially called "Kovinės (Bedugnio) atokvėpio vieta." Long-time residents say the pond's two names appear to have gotten swapped over the years, so what is officially "Kovinė" is often locally known as "Bedugnis" ("Bottomless"). Almost all the shores are swampy, birches grow abundantly around them, and marsh sedge blooms profusely in spring.
