Graži vieta, Vilniaus apskritis
This hillfort above the Neris river, catalogued as Revos piliakalnis and locally called Ponarska Gura, sits on a promontory near the point where a smaller stream meets the river - the santaka, or confluence, that gives the site its popular name. Its long, narrow platform stretches about 110 metres north to south, and archaeologists date the settlement to the first millennium into the early second millennium AD. The hillfort has been damaged by old digging and ploughing and lies hidden in forest, making it a find for those who enjoy tracking down lesser-known archaeological sites rather than a polished attraction.
