The forests around Kapčiamiestis in the Lazdija district are one of the largest outdoor mushroom growing regions in the country. There are many jams and mushroom fields here, where boletus and greens sprout profusely in autumn. The forest has an excellent network of trails suitable for active outdoor recreation.
