Paparčių Šv. vyskupo Stanislovo iš Šv. Pranciškaus Asyžiečio bažnyčia

Graži vieta, Kauno apskritis

A first church here was built by 1522, seized by Calvinist reformers in the later 16th century and returned to Catholics in 1609. In 1649 Grand Duchy treasurer Stanislovas Beinartas installed Dominican friars in Paparčiai, who built a new brick church that served the parish for over 300 years until the monastery closed in 1864, with the old church and monastery demolished in 1891. The current wooden church was built in 1916 under priest Jurgis Zimkus, reusing older Dominican-era decor; its main altar holds a graced 17th-century painting, "Švč. Mergelė Marija Snieginė," alongside baroque wooden sculptures and surviving fragments of the old altars, including images of Dominican saints Dominic, Thomas Aquinas and Pius V.
