Svilės šaltiniai

Graži vieta, Šiaulių apskritis

Spread across roughly 1.8 hectares near Svilė village, this is Lithuania's largest spring complex, with more than a hundred individual springs feeding the Svilė stream, the only Lithuanian river known to host Arctic relict insects left behind by the glacial period. Local accounts say the springs ran stronger before the Second World War, sometimes forming fountain-like jets; land drainage since has reduced their combined flow to around 41 liters per second.
