Aknīstes parks

Graži vieta, Zemgale

Aknīstes parks, known locally as Sēļu parks, occupies the site of a church that stood in the center of Aknīste from 1774 until its demolition around 1985. The only surviving part of that church, its red-brick gates, still stands at the park entrance and has become a recognizable symbol of the town. The small garden behind the gates was fitted with a solar-powered smart bench, offering USB charging and Wi-Fi, under a 2021 municipal project.
