These forests of Žemaitija are characterized by fertile, wetter soil and a dense cover of conifers and mixed leaves. Here, during the autumn season, large red-tops, lepsies, and red-breasted sedges sprout in abundance. The array has clearly maintained quarter lines that help field hikers conveniently orient themselves and plan their movement.
