St. Matthew the Apostle Church in Rokiškis was built in 1868-1877, funded by Count Reinhold Tyzenhaus and designed by architect George Werner. It is a Neo-Gothic brick church measuring 42.7x19.3 m, with a 56.5 m tall bell tower and three naves covered by cross vaults. A 24-register organ was installed in 1885, and the church was consecrated by Bishop Mečislovas Paliulionis.
