Kirikumäe Beach

Paplūdimys, Võrumaa

Kirikumäe supelrand sits on the northern shore of Kirikumäe järv, a 61.4-hectare lake in Võru County with a maximum depth of 3.5 meters, locally regarded as the area's best swimming spot. The lake and its surrounding forest and Järvesuu bog form the Kirikumäe landscape protection area, circled by a 3.2-kilometer hiking trail that includes a campfire site. It takes its name from an Orthodox church that once stood on the shore during the Livonian War, and scenes from the Estonian children's film Karoliine hõbelõng were filmed there.
