Rubenes nature park

Graži vieta, Zemgale

Rubenes dabas parks began development in 1950 on a five-hectare hillside site above the shore of Lake Vaidava, in Rubeņi, Jēkabpils novads. It contains ornamental plantings and rock gardens, a water-lily-shaped fountain, a pond with a small island, and a monument to poet Rainis by sculptor K. Baumanis. Rare tree species growing here include thuja, Siberian fir, red oak and Douglas fir, and the grounds also hold an open-air stage with a dance floor, an outdoor bowling area, a themed "Gnome Village", and a playground.
