A sandy beach lines the eastern shore of Vähkjärv, also known as Piigandi Vähkjärv, a 9 hectare lake in Kanepi Parish, Põlva County that runs alongside the Tartu-Võru highway. The gently rising banks and 1,624 meter shoreline make it a popular local swimming spot near Piigandi village, with Jõksi lake sitting directly across the road and Piigandi lake to the northeast.
