Antazavės Bažnyčia

Graži vieta, Utenos apskritis

Commissioned by Countess Kunigunda Valavičiūtė-Pliaterienė, owner of the Antazavė manor, this wooden church was raised in 1794 from hewn logs joined without a single nail. Its Baroque, cross-shaped basilica design features two towers, three naves, and three Late Baroque altars, with a brick bell tower added around 1827. During World War I, German forces converted the building into a military hospital, moving parish services to the cemetery chapel, while four of the church's bells were carried off to Russia.
