Jono kalnelis is a restored earthen rampart in Klaipėda that formed part of the city's 17th-century Dutch-style fortifications, built from 1627-1629 with walls roughly 3.5 meters high, bastions, and surrounding moats. The hill's name likely comes from a Lutheran St. John's church built in 1706 that once stood on or near the site but was destroyed after World War II. The earthworks were restored in 1994-1997 and today the hill hosts seasonal events such as Midsummer (Joninės) and spring folk-music and dance festivals.
