Rae lake observation tower

Apžvalgos vieta, Parnumaa

This small wooden lookout, built mainly for spotting beavers, stands on the shore of Rae järv, a roughly 9.8 hectare dam lake near the village of Laiksaare in Pärnu County. Hikers reach it via a 2.6 kilometer trail from the lakeside campsite, part of a route that extends to a 4 kilometer loop through varied forest off the Häädemeeste to Tõitoja road. Signs of beaver activity and occasional kingfishers can be spotted from the shore near the tower, and the surrounding Pärnumaa Recreation Area is also used for autumn mushroom foraging. The adjoining Rae järve campsite has a lean-to shelter, a campfire ring with grill, a footbridge and suspension bridge, and well water.
