Mykolas Kosakovskis, owner of the nearby Vaitkuškis manor, had this brick church built in 1789 about a kilometer northwest of the estate near the Pivonija forest, and it was consecrated in 1791. It functioned first as the manor's chapel and later as a branch of Pabaiskas parish before Pašilė gained its own parish in 1926. Soviet authorities closed and nationalized the building after World War II, converting it into the 'Raketa' cinema in 1964; it was returned to the parish in 1992, reconstructed for worship by 1994, and renovated again in 2012. Built in a classicist style with a rectangular, towerless three-nave plan, it has been a registered regional architectural heritage monument since 1992.
