Parnidis Dune is one of the tallest grey dunes in Europe (about 52 m), located in Curonian Spit National Park near Nida. The entire Curonian Spit is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the sundial monument on top of the dune (built in 1995, rebuilt after being struck by lightning) marks one of the Spit's most iconic spots. From the top, the Curonian Lagoon is visible on one side and the Baltic Sea on the other - one of Lithuania's most popular sunset-viewing locations.
