Kaimelio Šv. Arkangelo Mykolo bažnyčia

Graži vieta, Tauragės apskritis

Standing on the left bank of the Nemunas River in the village of Kaimelis, this wooden church traces its origins to a manor chapel first recorded at Kiduliai in 1636. Count Benediktas Tiškevičius funded construction of the present rectangular timber structure in 1860, built with a single tower and seven pinnacles and divided into three naves by two rows of square columns; Auxiliary Bishop Juozapas Holiakas consecrated it in 1885. The building holds three altars, is enclosed by a stone perimeter wall, and is registered as cultural heritage object No. 24970, having last been restored in 2009.
