Graži vieta, Kurzeme
Built at the end of the 19th century as part of the Liepāja naval fortress and military port (Karosta), this breakwater is 1,800 metres long and 7.35 metres wide - the longest breakwater in Latvia. It was built to protect the harbour entrance from storm waves and sand drift driven by north and northwest winds, and today is a popular spot for watching the sunset and for fishing.
