Lubezere village grew up around the former Lubezeres manor, first documented in 1582 under the German name Lub-Essern. The manor house itself stands empty today, without windows or doors, but the surrounding park has survived and is protected in Latvia as a dabas piemineklis (natural monument). It contains plantings of tree species foreign to the area, introduced during the manor era. The village, home to roughly 177 residents as of 2021, lies about 6 km from Valdemārpils and 20 km from Talsi.
