This wooded park in Darbėnai grew up around a mill pond formed by damming the Darba stream, a site first recorded in 1756, with a stone mill rebuilt in 1820 and expanded in 1930. It was named in honor of Grand Duke Vytautas around 1930, during nationwide events marking 500 years since his death, and became so popular with summer visitors between the wars that Darbėnai was informally called a resort town. After falling into disrepair, the park was restored with EU funding and reopened in 2015, and today it is known locally as the swing park for its many installed swings.
