Running roughly 560 metres along the Nemunas river's right bank between Prienai and Birštonas, this Quaternary rock exposure rises about 31 metres and lays bare sediment layers from the last two glacial periods and the interglacial period between them, including a weathered zone used to date deposits to around 117,000-130,000 years ago. It was declared a geological natural monument in 1984 and now sits within Nemuno kilpos Regional Park and its own geomorphological reserve. A roughly 1.6 km loop trail climbs to a viewing platform atop the ridge overlooking the Nemunas loops, though the layered cliff face itself is best appreciated from a boat on the river or from the Giraitiškės rest area on the opposite bank.
