Abula hiking trail

Pėsčiųjų takas, Saaremaa

Rahtla village on Saaremaa’s western coast is home to this roughly 1.2 kilometer RMK trail, part of the Abula-Kalasma nature trail and camping area in the Kihelkonna forest district. About half the route follows the eastern shore of Tagalaht bay before turning into coastal pine forest, passing fossil-bearing shoreline rock that has earned the beach a local nickname, the Skull Coast, along with remnants of World War I and World War II military structures. The trail is open from April 1 through October 31 and includes picnic and camping spots along the water.
