Väätsa Bog Hiking Trail (3Km)

Pėsčiųjų takas, Jarvamaa

A 3-kilometer loop through the Väätsa nature reserve, between the towns of Türi and Paide, threads a mix of boardwalk and forest path past a 100-year-old bog pine stand and a pair of small lakes once linked by drainage channels that watered meadows along the Lokuta River. Local residents marked the route in 1999, and the boardwalk sections were built in 2017 by volunteers during Estonia's nationwide "Teeme ära!" cleanup campaign. Part of the path follows the remains of a historic winter road that once connected Paide and Tallinn, and the trailhead has a small parking area, a dry toilet, and picnic shelters.
