Gorilų ūkis / Gorilla farm

Graži vieta, Kauno apskritis

Despite its name, this "gorilla farm" keeps no gorillas: it is a newly restored old countryside homestead in Vaitkūnai village where visitors can observe herds of noble (red) deer up close, including hand-feeding. May-June is calving season; late autumn brings stag rutting displays and mating calls, sometimes visible fights. Casual drop-in viewing is free, while closer encounters, antler-shedding demonstrations, and organized activities like carp fishing "in the deer's company" require an advance-arranged tour.
