Standing on Kačergų hill just south of Liubavas, near the Lithuania-Poland border, this observation tower sits atop the highest point in Kalvarija municipality at roughly 225 meters elevation. On clear days it offers views across both countries, with five separate church towers visible: those of Liubavas, Jelenevo, Vyžainis, Akmenynai and Gražiškiai. During the Soviet era the hill was used by border guards to watch the demarcation line that ran through the area, and it remains the only tower of its kind in the Suvalkija region.
