A 1.1 km boardwalk trail through the Naglių Nature Reserve on the Curonian Spit, crossing the Agila (Naglių) dune, which has been migrating westward since the 17th century after windblown sand buried old fishing villages, earning the area its name of 'dead dunes'. The route passes both lichen-covered grey dunes and bare white dunes before reaching a viewpoint about 50m up the great dune ridge, with panoramic views over the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon. The reserve shelters rare species such as the sand lizard and nesting tawny pipits, and visitors must keep to the marked boardwalk since footsteps off-trail erode the fragile slopes.
