Mergelės Marijos Apsilankymo Valkininkų bažnyčia

Graži vieta, Vilniaus apskritis

The Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Valkininkai is a Roman Catholic parish church first recorded on this site in 1555; earlier wooden and brick churches here were destroyed by fires in 1655 and 1772 and by a storm in 1818. The current brick church was built in 1822-1837 in a classical style, consecrated in 1854 by Bishop Vaclovas Žilinskas, and enlarged between 1895 and 1898. It has a rectangular plan, two towers, and three naves inside.
