Lažas - Padures muižas parks

Graži vieta, Kurzeme

This is the park surrounding Padure manor, an 18th century estate 7 km from Kuldīga that belonged to the von Osten-Sacken baronial family before Latvia's 1920s land reform. The two-hectare grounds feature an avenue of centuries-old linden trees and an artificial pond dug during restoration work in the 1870s, along with a mill pond used for swimming a short walk from the manor house. After 1929 the manor building itself became a school and has housed a residential school for children with intellectual disabilities since 1969, while the park remains open for walks and events.
