Airėnų akmuo su ženklais

Graži vieta, Vilniaus apskritis

Airėnų akmuo su ženklais is a gray, coarse-grained granite boulder in the Dūkštos oak forest (Dūkštų ąžuolynas), one of Lithuania's oldest oak groves, about 2 km southwest of Dūkštos village near Vilnius. The stone measures roughly 2.4 by 1.9 meters and rises about 1 meter above the ground, with mysterious carved grooves 20-28 cm across cut into a smoothed area on its northeastern top surface. The meaning of the marks is unknown: theories range from a property boundary marker to runic symbols or human initials. It is reached via a 250-meter boardwalk off an educational trail starting near road 108 between Vievis and Nemenčinė, and visitors still leave flowers, candles and coins at the stone.
