Maudykla, Laanemaa
This swimming spot sits on the Puise peninsula in Läänemaa, near the historic fishing village of Puise on the edge of the Matsalu nature reserve area. It has a sandy lake/sea bottom, a rarity in this part of the coast, which locals say is the only spot in the area suitable for swimming, though it remains on privately held land rather than an officially designated public beach. The Puise village society maintains it through volunteer talgud work days, having installed a water safety stand and a changing cabin and periodically clearing the beach of seaweed and brush.
