This old oak stands at a crossroads in Karsakai forest, with a cross grown into its trunk (only a fragment now visible). Local legend gives several competing origins: that a servant girl hanged herself from the oak out of love and the manor lady ordered a cross hung there, which then grew into the trunk; that manor lords haunted at the spot ordered the cross placed after a woman hanged herself nearby on "Zoska's hill"; or that a cross was simply driven into the ground beside a young oak that "absorbed" it as it grew.
