Velikuškių II piliakalnio poilsiavietė

Iškylos vieta, Utenos apskritis

Wooden stairs climb from a small parking and rest area up to the platform of the Velikuškių II hillfort, known locally as "Sala" (Island) because water surrounds it on three sides. The earthwork platform rises 20 to 25 meters and measures roughly 150 by 73 meters, overlooking the Bradesiai bay of Sartai Lake and nearby Zalvė Lake. Excavations here have turned up stone axes, smoothed pottery, iron slag and animal bones, with occupation dated from the 1st millennium BC into the 1st millennium AD.
