Mosėdžio pilkapių vieta

Graži vieta, Klaipėdos apskritis

This burial mound site 200 meters west of the Bartuva River's left bank near Mosėdis originally held 8 mounds, 7 to 18 meters across and 0.5 to 0.8 meters high, containing cremated remains and hand-made pottery. Discovered by researcher I. Jablonskis in 1958, it was excavated in 1973 by the Kretinga Regional Museum, uncovering six cremation graves dated to the 5th and 4th centuries BC. Five of the mounds have been reconstructed, and the site has been a state-protected cultural monument since 2005.
