Niedrāju-Pilkas putnu tornis

Apžvalgos vieta, Vidzeme

The Niedrāju-Pilkas bird tower is a 6-meter wooden observation platform standing on a forest strip between two sections of the Niedrāju-Pilkas bog, reached via the reserve's roughly 1-kilometer boardwalk trail. It was built using about 44 cubic meters of pressure-treated timber on a 9-by-8 meter foundation, giving visitors a view over the open bog landscape. The bog is part of the Northern Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve and hosts protected species such as black storks, cranes, lesser spotted eagles and whooper swans.
