Svėdasų Manor

Graži vieta, Utenos apskritis

Perched on the western shore of Lake Beragis near Bajorai village, the manor’s recorded history goes back to 1503, when it may have served as a royal holding before passing to the Radvila family in 1533. Count Liucijonas Morikonis rebuilt the estate in the mid-19th century in a style resembling a knight’s castle, complete with a seven-hectare park laid out by foreign gardeners and an artificial pond. The buildings fell into ruin after Soviet confiscation in 1941, and since 2018 a new owner has been restoring the site.
