Bikuškio dvaras

Graži vieta, Utenos apskritis

Standing on the shore of Lake Alaušas near Sudeikiai in Utena district, this manor’s written history reaches back to the 14th century, and it passed through the hands of the Radvila, Oginskis, Prušinskis and other noble families before its 18th-century classicist residence was built. Post-war Soviet collectivization turned the estate into a collective-farm center and filled its former lands with new housing, leaving only the restored classical manor house, a 19th-century wooden barn, and the ruins of a smithy and spirit distillery standing today. Since 1996, the owners have run it as a cultural venue, hosting painters’ plein-airs, theatre performances and symphonic concerts, and are developing a granite sculpture park on the grounds.
