Graži vieta, Šiaulių apskritis
This open-air trail near Naisiai in the Šiauliai region gathers over 50 oak sculptures of Baltic deities carved by folk artists, spread across the Sun Square, the Fire Square, and a reconstructed Alka sanctuary hill. Roughly 1.4 kilometers of the route are lined with 38 of the sculptures, drawing on 13th-18th century written sources, folklore, and archaeological research into Lithuanian, Latvian, and Prussian mythology. The project was funded by Naisiai-born agronomist Ramūnas Karbauskis, and it helped Naisiai become Lithuania’s first “Little Capital of Culture” in 2015.
