Graži vieta, Šiaulių apskritis
At this crossroads in Svilė village, crosses have been raised since feudal times to honor victims of tragedy and those seeking reconciliation with fate; local accounts describe around two hundred serfs, rebels and condemned criminals executed here under serfdom, and one cross bore the date 1812 until the mid-20th century. Local resident Vera Eidėnienė considers the site sacred, and visitors continue to bring new crosses to it, though an alternative tradition instead traces its origin to a former chapel where prayers were said to be answered.
