Bukantiškės piliakalnis

Graži vieta, Šiaulių apskritis

Also known as Piltinė, this hillfort in Bukantiškės stands on its own hill with lower, gentler western and northern slopes and a summit about 12 meters up. Archaeological finds here, including charcoal, pottery fragments and iron artifacts, date to the first half of the first millennium. Deciduous trees now cover the mound, which has been damaged by plowing and by a triangulation tower built on it.
