This full-day (7-hour) educational excursion for schoolchildren in grades 1-5 combines local history, nature and traditional crafts along the Nemunas river. It starts at the Jurbarkas Regional Museum with a session on the Panemunė castles as Lithuania’s historic defensive line, continues to the Panemunė Regional Park visitor center at a restored Šilė inn to learn about the river and life along its banks, includes a nature picnic near a botanical reserve, and finishes with an educational treasure hunt at Panemunė Castle and a forest-cottage session on regional culinary heritage where children bake traditional potato pancakes.
