Strung over the Lėvuo River in the Panevėžys-region village of Piniava, this swaying pedestrian suspension bridge, locally nicknamed a "monkey bridge," is a popular spot for anglers and for visitors after a small thrill. Local community leaders report that it needs repair almost every year, since spring ice floes and high water repeatedly damage the structure. Nearby, only the rotted posts of a third, older river crossing still mark where a previous bridge once stood.
