Graži vieta, Latgale

This manor complex beside the Jaša stream dates to at least the 1880s; poet Rainis spent his school and university holidays here between 1883 and 1891 while his father, Krišjānis Pliekšāns, managed the estate. The renovated manor house presents his gymnasium and university years, while a converted cattle barn holds more than 200 pieces of Latgale ceramics alongside a pottery workshop reconstructed in 1999. The roughly three hectare grounds, protected as a state historical monument, are open to visitors from May through October.
