Located at the junction of Anykščiai and Kupiškis districts, the Šimonii forest is famous for its deep wild mushroom beds in mixed stands. In the bright areas of heath, boletus sprouts en masse every year, and in wetter loams, red tops and autumn sedges appear. The location is highly valued for its clean outdoor air, natural tranquility and excellent pedestrian access.
